SITES Championing Sustainable Oceans at the 8th NTNU EU Conference

Brussels – April 18, 2024 – we are pleased to announce the participation of our CEO Mr. Leonardo Piccinetti at today’s “Oceans10 – Treasures and Forecasts” parallel session at the 8th NTNU European Conference.

The session focused on the critical role of research and innovation in achieving the ambitious goals of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, including the “Mission Restore our Oceans and Waters by 2030” and the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership (SBEP).

We are a strong advocate for sustainable ocean practices and actively work with researchers and SMEs in CleanTech technologies to develop and implement innovative solutions. The “Oceans10 – Treasures and Forecasts” session featured keynote addresses by high-level representatives, including Silvia Nemeth, deputy head of the ‘Healthy Oceans and Seas’ unit in DG Research and Innovation, and Margherita Cappelletto from the Italian Ministry of University and Research. The session also included a panel discussion focused on “Closing the blue loops: Europe joining forces for a more innovative, sustainable, and inclusive blue economy.”
