The workshop, spanning two full days, offered an ideal platform for SiTeS to contribute, collaborate, and exchange knowledge with the participants and VALZEO partners. VALZEO aims” Valorization of Agro-Industrial Wastes via the Production of Zeolite-based composite Materials and their use in Environmental Remediation and Biofuel Production” SiTeS roles in VALZEO is leading Dissemination, Communications and Networking Activities SiTeS’ CEO, Mr. Leonardo Piccinetti, delivered an awe-inspiring contributed titled “Bioeconomy Skills in Ireland” during the workshop, further highlighting the company’s expertise and Commitment to Innovative Solutions.

Nanoporous Solids for Environmental Applications:
SiTeS played a vital role in organizing and contributing to the workshop titled “Nanoporous Solids for Environmental Applications.” This platform provided a space for SiTeS to demonstrate their cutting-edge research and discuss potential breakthroughs within the field. The workshop fostered meaningful discussions and brainstorming sessions, enabling stakeholders to explore innovative approaches to tackle environmental concerns more effectively.

VALZEO Science Cafe:
One of the key highlights of the workshop was the VALZEO Science Cafe, a captivating session that delved into the significance of water as a scarce resource. SiTeS actively participated in this engaging conversation, sharing insights on the role of nanotechnology in addressing environmental challenges related to water scarcity. Their groundbreaking work on developing nanoporous solids for environmental applications fascinated attendees and emphasized SiTeS’ pioneering role in sustainable water management technologies.

VALZEO Study Visit At Andalusian Center

The Centro Andaluz de Biología del Desarrollo (CABD), is a prominent research institution specializing in developmental biology. Established in 2003, it was the first of its kind in Spain. The CABD is notable for its Department of Gene Regulation and Morphogenesis, which received the prestigious Maria de Maeztu Unit of Excellence award for the period 2017-2021, an accolade that was renewed for the entire CABD from 2022 to 2026.

This center is a joint venture, co-financed by the Consejo Superior de Investigations Cientificos (CSIC), the Junta de Andalucía, and the Universidad Pablo de Olavide (UPO) of Seville. It hosts 27 research groups and provides extraordinary support for project preparation.

VALZEO Study Visit: Exploring Olive Oil And Sustainable Technologies

VALZEO team embarked on an incredible study visit to the Instituto de la Grasa, a renowned research institute in Sevilla, Spain. The visit provided a remarkable experience for VALZEO. The Instituto de la Grasa, part of the prestigious Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) and located at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide (UPO) campus, has a rich history since its establishment in 1947. The institute specializes in enhancing and developing industries related to fatty substances, with a primary focus on the characterization and production of quality, healthy, and safe foods using environmentally friendly technologies.


Project Meeting:
Another significant aspect of the VALZEO workshop was the project meeting held during the twelfth month of the project. SiTeS members actively participated in this critical gathering, sharing updates on their progress, challenges, and future plans. Collaborative efforts and knowledge exchange among project partners ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach towards achieving the shared goals and objectives.
