SITES Delivers Research Management & IPR Training for SMART4ENV at TÜBİTAK MAM
SITES is proud to have delivered a dedicated Research Management and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Training session for the SMART4ENV Horizon Europe project, hosted at TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) in Gebze, Turkey.
Representing SITES, Leonardo Piccinetti (CEO, SITES), Donatella Santoro, and Irina Vitchinka led a full-day capacity-building workshop designed to strengthen partners’ skills in navigating IPR frameworks, Horizon Europe rules, and best practices for managing EU-funded research.
The training provided participants with essential tools to:
🔹 Understand IPR fundamentals and their strategic importance
🔹 Apply Horizon Europe Grant Agreement rules on intellectual property
🔹 Interpret Consortium Agreement clauses related to ownership, access rights, and exploitation
🔹 Use practical templates, workflows, and case studies for effective research management
🔹 Make informed decisions that protect innovation and maximise research impact
Partners also engaged in case studies from successful European technology ventures and explored practical examples relevant to the SMART4ENV project’s mission of boosting environmental management and regional innovation through strategic research collaboration.
This session marks an important milestone for the SMART4ENV consortium, enhancing partners’ capacity to handle knowledge assets, protect project results, and prepare for future exploitation activities.
SITES extends its gratitude to TÜBİTAK MAM for hosting the training and to all SMART4ENV partners for their active participation.
