SITES Contributes to International Research on Scaling Living Labs Through the Quintuple Helix

Sustainable Innovation Technology Services Ltd (SITES) is proud to announce the publication of a new peer-reviewed research article exploring the future of Living Labs as drivers of collaborative innovation and sustainable territorial development.

The study, “Scaling Living Labs in Egypt Through the Quintuple Helix: Future Policy Options from a Fuzzy Delphi Study,” has been published in the international peer-reviewed journal Insights into Regional Development.

Representing SITES, Dr. Leonardo Piccinetti, CEO of SITES, joined an international team of researchers from Egypt, Italy, the United Kingdom, South Africa, and Sudan to investigate how the Quintuple Helix Innovation Model can support the expansion of Living Labs through stronger cooperation between academia, industry, government, civil society, and the natural environment.

Evidence-Based Policy for Future Innovation

Using a Fuzzy Delphi methodology, the research identifies strategic policy priorities for scaling Living Labs in Egypt while strengthening stakeholder engagement, innovation ecosystems, and collaborative governance.

The study offers practical recommendations for policymakers, universities, research organisations, innovation agencies, and practitioners seeking to develop more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable innovation systems.
